Welcome to The City of Dead Souls for 2007 and 2008

Hello to those of you studying on Digital Marketing & Electronic Relationship Management. Our social learning community is up and ready for you to use. Please take some time to read some of the older messages on the blog (there are some interesting links). Also - please take some time to register on the community properly. Please use your student ID as your ID here or make sure you put your MMU email address as your contact in the registration details. Lots of spambots attempt to register here, so if a user is not obviously an MMU student (either ID or email address), then that user won't get registered and the details will be wiped. Click on the link on the left for the details.

If you are studying Michelle Morris' 5A3170 DBSE unit, the same rules apply. Michelle will give you more details during your sessions with her.

5A3150 DMERM & 5A3170 DBSE Returning Assignments

It's time for you to return all of the assignments that you have had returned to you during the last 2 terms. You need to do this so that external examiners can review the assessment and modify grades where appropriate. This is particularly important if your grades are near the borders between classifications. You should return them to my office 1004a, or to the R&M programme office on the 11th floor, or bring them to an assignment surgery or workshop. If you have lost or misplaced your assignment, you will need to print it out again and write "REPRINT" on the front, and I will attach a marking schedule to it.

5A3150 DMERM Hand-in Date Clarification

I know, I should be able to use a diary and understand the Roman Calendar. So - for the avoidance of confusion, here are the tasks and dates ahead of you!

That Group Poster: has to be brought in person by a minimum of one member of your team to your normal tutorial on the week beginning 12th March 2007. If you don't submit a poster at the tutorial you normally attend, you will not receive a grade.

The Group Report: has to be submitted in the normal method through your programme office on Thursday 15th March 2007.

The Individual Report: has to be submitted in the normal method through your programme office on Thursday 22nd March 2007.

5G3120 SCAP & 5A3150 DMERM

If you're interested in looking at virals as part of your campaign (in either of these units), you should start at Germ: here are the winners of the last Germ contest, and you'll note there is a contest for the next one. You'll notice that one single agency wins 2 of the awards.

5A3150 DMERM & 5A3170 DBSE

Welcome back to a new year of learning. We now have between 8 and 10 weeks before your "finals" subission pieces depending on your unit.

Attendance at lectures and tutorials began to drift dramatically at the end of November as students used teaching time to work on assignments.

You can't continue this approach. As 100% coursework units, DMERM and DBSE need you to attend to make sure you get the relevant up-to-date factual information and knowledge to pass the units. You must make every effort to attend every session, and many of you already do this. Your final grade depends on this, and I know you do not want to be disappointed.

Make sure you make plenty of use of the community as this is th eplace for all discussion in the subject areas. If you have still not registered, make sure you do today.
